Dear Friends of the Church of Our Lady of Kazan,
In consideration of the impending severe weather and its aftermath, Great Compline with the reading from the Canon of St. Andrew of Crete will be cancelled for tomorrow, Monday, February 23.
I ask that tomorrow you read the lessons from scripture : Isaiah 1:1-20; Genesis 1:1-13; Proverbs 1:1-20; and the day’s selection from the Great Canon by St. Andrew of Crete.
St. Andrew’s verses may sound dark at first, but they reveal our human frailty and the many ways we break our relationship and promises to God. Yet Scripture assures us of God’s unwavering mercy: “My love will never depart from you” (Isaiah 54:10).
The Great Canon invites us to face our failures not to sink into sorrow, but to rediscover hope. God never abandons those who turn toward Him, even with the smallest faith. He continually offers new beginnings, calling us to keep our relationship with Him alive in trust and love.
In Christ,
The Reverend Paul Hunchak
